HOI presenter Rob Laird visits the beautiful Grays and Feather cocktail bar in Covent Garden, to learn how to create their famous and rather special cocktail, the “Vintage Punch”.
The rather sophisticated cocktail, packs quite a punch, with fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, an entire bottle of Gin and topped with champagne. The “Vintage Punch” is Greys and Feathers signature cocktail, and it’s made even more special by the spectacular use of a sword to Sabrage open the Champaign, for the final touch on this firecracker of a cocktail.
This little, elegant London gem comes with a huge amount of heritage and history. Once the office and drinking spot for the one and only Charles Dickens, serving him his ritual of a pint of champagne, before he began to write. Though the food and the fancy bites are as phenomenal as the cocktails, we only had time to watch the making of The Vintage Punch, to hopefully inspire you in giving it a go at home.
